Are you a student enrolled in Instructional Design courses, or do you know someone who is? Then consider applying for or sharing information about our 2012 scholarships. For the sixth consecutive year, we are offering two scholarships—one undergraduate and one graduate. These scholarships were created to assist students who are pursuing an undergraduate degree, graduate degree, or certificate in Instructional Design. Students applying for this scholarship are expected to be able to demonstrate their focus on topics related to Instructional Design through their academic studies, current jobs, graduate or certificate program, or special projects.
The IDL SIG scholarship awards this year are $500 for undergraduate and $750 for graduate students. These scholarships are wholly funded by the SIG. The Scholarship Committee evaluates applicants’ academic records and potential for contributing to the Instructional Design profession. To be eligible for a scholarship, you must be:
- Enrolled in a graduate degree, undergraduate degree, or certificate program in the Instructional Design field.
- Pursuing a career as an Instructional Designer.
We are now accepting applications for the 2011-2012 scholarships. To learn more about the requirements and apply, download the appropriate application form below:
The deadline for submission of all materials is Wednesday, February 22, 2012. All materials, including letters of recommendation for graduate applicants, must be in by this date. Winners will be notified in mid-March 2012. All winners and honorable mentions will be published in the IDL SIG quarterly newsletter. Please direct questions to scholarship@stcidlsig.org. Good luck!

I am a graduate student interested in applying for the Instructional Design & Learning SIG Scholarships. I could not find the link to the application. I need help with finding the application on the website or if possible could the application be sent to me by mail or by email.
James,
Applications are now available on our site. Thanks for your patience!
I am a science graduate and now working as an Instructional Designer in India. I went through the applications on this site. In the application for graduates, it is mentioned “Graduate applicants must have been accepted into a graduate program related to Instructional Design before January 1, 2012.” and in the application for undergraduates, it is mentioned, “Undergraduate applicants must have successfully completed two courses in instructional design, instructional technology, educational technology, or related field.”
I wanted to know if I am eligible for the scholarship. If yes, then which application should I fill?
Akanksha
Do you have a degree that’s the equivalent to a US Bachelor’s degree?
Hello my name is Derrick Pickett, I read the requirements for the undergraduate and I just started going to school at Walden University online, I’m I still eligible too apply.
Hi Derrick,
It sounds like you’re an undergraduate student, correct? You’ll need a transcript and a description of your involvement/interest in Instructional Design. You’ll need all of this by Wed., 2/22. Do you think you can have all of this together by then?
Will you be offering the graduate scholarship again for the new school year?
Thanks
Glad you asked! Yes, Marjorie, we plan to continue our scholarship program next year. Start checking back at our site in November 2012.
Hello,

Hi Karina,
We have just awarded our scholarships for this year, but we’ll be offering them again next winter. Start checking our website in November or December for application info. We’ll award our next scholarships in the Feb/Mar 2013 timeframe.
Thanks for your interest!
